FABVORG! Friendliness Award for Best Voluntary Organisation

The Friendliness Award is to recognise and reward the organisations behind the volunteers, i.e. those organisations who enable their volunteers to flourish, to give of their best, to keep choosing to volunteer, or to feel skilled and confident to take on new challenges.

For the first six months the trophy was held by Action for Children and on 5 March it was passed to the April Club, the other joint winners.

Free legal advice for your community group

LawWorks for Community Groups was launched in 2002 to act as a referral agency. They match small community groups, charities and social enterprises who cannot afford to pay for legal advice, with lawyers who will provide the legal assistance on a pro bono (free) basis.

Hope in the Valley riding for physically handicapped children

Hope in the Valley is a charity riding group for physically disabled children. Manned entirely by volunteers, its aim is to give these children between the ages of three and sixteen the opportunity to experience the pleasure, independence and therapeutic benefits that riding a horse brings.

New website for Kangaroos

Kangaroos the charity which provides out of school activities in Mid Sussex for children (aged 5 -18) with moderate or severe learning difficulties and other problems now has its own website. A link is available in our Network and Links page.
